PHILADELPHIA — Mayor Jim Kenney was endorsed today for re-election by five prominent faith leaders in the African American community. He received the endorsement of Bishop Ernest C. Morris, Sr, Pastor James S. Hall Jr, Rev. Dr. Kevin R. Johnson, Rev. James Moore, Sr, and Bishop J. Louis Felton.
“I’m in full support of the Mayor,” said Rev. Dr. Kevin R. Johnson while citing the Mayor’s work to return the School District to local control and raise the minimum wage for City employees. “He’s done an outstanding job over these past few years and he needs four more years to complete the work that he’s started. I support him because he’s not afraid to tackle real issues, issues that are important to all communities.”
“I really enjoyed meeting today with Bishop Morris, Pastor Hall, Rev. Johnson, Rev. Moore, and Bishop Felton about how we’re going to strengthen our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Kenney. “I’m very proud and honored to have their support and look forward to continuing our work together.”
