Mayor Kenney Highlights Commitment to Education in New Video about PHLpreK
Earlier this year, we celebrated the two-year anniversary of PHLpreK — a free program that offers quality pre-K to children in neighborhoods throughout our city. Since its launch, over 4,000 children have been given access to a life-changing early childhood education.
With the right resources, children can break out of poverty — and that’s why I’m thrilled by what we’ve accomplished with PHLpreK, especially because we’re just getting started.
I’ve visited a lot of kids in schools across our city and sat with them in their classrooms — listening and engaging them. I’ve seen the positive impact of an early education — and the joy when our kids get it right or learn something new.
We’ve made so much progress, but we have to keep fighting. Let’s keep going until every child in our city has access to a high-quality, pre-K education.
I know how far we’ve come, which is why I know we can continue to do better. I promise to keep up this fight, but I need your help to do it — watch our new video now, then share the video with your family and friends to help us spread the word about why it’s so important we win the primary on May 21.
