Mayor Kenney is Fighting to Raise the Minimum Wage

Friends, do you support raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour?

Well Jim Kenney does, and his record as mayor — like raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour in Philadelphia for city employees and contractors — shows his commitment to working Philadelphians.

Philadelphians like Janna, a worker at the airport who now earns a higher wage because Jim fought for her and her co-workers.

Watch our new video to hear Janna’s story, and learn more about Jim’s record of standing up for Philadelphia’s working people.

Like Jim says in the video, economic inequality in this country is a disgrace. And in the face of inaction by Harrisburg Republicans to raise wages for tens of thousands of Philadelphians, Jim took matters into his own hands, raising the minimum wage to $15 per hour in Philadelphia for city employees and contractors.

It’s simple — Jim believes people shouldn’t have to work three jobs to provide for their families.

From day one, Jim has been guided by the philosophy that Philadelphia cannot reach its full potential if some people are shut out.

But Jim’s work — our work — is not done yet.

Help him keep fighting for workers like Janna and the tens of thousands of Philadelphia workers who deserve higher wages and shouldn’t have to struggle in poverty. Watch and share our new video today >>
